Tough hike today. Hit three peaks in misty, cold rain, but was singing Dispatch at the top of my lungs to keep the energy up! Passing hikers were either entertained or perplexed.
The descent from these peaks was one of the steepest on the AT in New Hampshire. Lots of rocks, big steps down, and slick slabs. At one point, I lost my balance and caught all the weight of my body and pack on just my right leg, putting a massive amount of pressure on my right knee for an instant. Ouch.
Hiked up to Garfield Ridge and called it an early day. Knee hurting, asleep by 7 PM, I don’t think I woke up once this night.
