I came down to a visitor center in Pinkham Notch today and was trying to decide if I should wait to go up to Madison and Washington or just go. The weather says showers and thunderstorms for two weeks straight, so I don’t think waiting another day will matter. But while I was debating this, my friend, Roadrunner, from back in the 100 Mile Wilderness walked out of the visitor center and said that his sister had bought him a room at the lodge next door – it had 4 beds, and he offered for me to stay the night. A free bed and shower? Decision made.
Do I zero tomorrow and wait for the (supposedly) best day for weather on Friday to summit Washington, or just go knowing that even that forecast could change and I just can’t control everything? Probably the latter!
